User Ratings and Reviews

4 Stars Latitude/ Navy Blue & Gray
I have been very happy with the Latitude jacket, so far.

I really like the size. It is small enough to be comfortable to hold on to when reading. I just wish the pockets were a little larger, so could better hold more things — like the Kindle’s power cord. (Then again, this may be more of a problem with the design of the Kindle power cord than the Latitude.)

4 Stars One of the Best Covers Available
I just got my Latitude jacket yesterday, but I know that I already love it. It doesn’t add a lot of bulk to the Kindle like some of the other cases do. I like that my Kindle is safely held in with the corner straps, but it’s also very easy to take it out if I want to read it “au naturale.” Great cover for the price. I love the fact that I can just toss my Kindle in the cover into my bag and I don’t have to worry about it slipping out of the case or the case flopping open like with some of the other cases I’ve purchased and returned.

5 Stars Only Cover You’ll Need
I spent a pretty good amount of time reviewing and comparing all the Kindle covers out there prior to purchasing my K2. After many rounds of elimination, my choices came down to two cases: the Patagonia and this one. From what I read, I clearly made the right choice.

I was a bit worried when I ordered this case after reading the negative reviews on Amazon for the same model cover in black. It seemed like an enormous oversight for a company that is only in business to make accessories for the Kindle to completely botch the design of a new product so badly. Thankfully I was right, as the CS at M Edge assured me that problem existed with the first run of Latitude covers for the K2 in black only. Apparently no other colors were affected, and they tested them all out.

Apparently they did just that because this case is nearly perfect. Excellent protection, great features, corner straps that actually HOLD the Kindle in place (that was the real deal breaker for me between this and the Patagonia) and all at $10 cheaper.

I would buy this case many times over before I even looked at anything else.

4 Stars Great case, simple and straightforward.
My Latitude jacket just arrived this afternoon and to sum up my review: I love it.

I’m somewhat experienced with cases as I’ve owned a wide variety for the Kindle classic, Kindle 2 and the DX (fyi: this review is for a K2 Latitude jacket). In the past I have had Oberon, M-Edge and StrangeDog cases. Oberon is ALWAYS recommended and well worth the price (I had one for my Kindle classic). StrangeDog wasn’t really my style, though I think the owner does great (and interesting!) work. However, after all of my experimenting, M-Edge has become my favorite resource for great covers and cases. I’ve owned two of their platform jackets (DX and K2) and the Leisure jacket for the K1. So now that you have an idea of where I’m coming from, here is my take on the Latitude.

My trusty platform jacket has more than met all of my needs so far but as I am about to take two extended trips, I needed something more. Here is what I was looking for:

1. Complete, enclosed protection for the Kindle

2. Storage space for the cable and some documents (boarding passes, ID, etc)

3. Some method of storage for my E-Luminator 2 book light

4. Compact design, nothing bulky

5. Easy access to the Kindle and ports

6. Something stylish (preferably blue)

Luckily M-Edge had sent out an email advertising their new Latitudes, Journey bags and sleeve. I did some searching in the Kindle accessory store and checked [...] for user reviews and advice. After checking out a few manufacturers, I settled on the Latitude.

Pros:

More or less met all my needs

It is surprisingly compact (the first thing my girlfriend noticed)

The materials feel quality, I like the nylon-ish feel of the outside and the comfy felt interior. Its a small thing, but I also like the grey cloth on the front, its a nice aesthetic touch

The cover bends back behind the Kindle effortlessly, no breaking in required

The corner system is well designed, the Kindle seats firmly and passed the “shake like mad over a soft surface” test

The zipper pouch on the front easily fits the charging cable and contours to the design of the case nicely

It has a slot for my E-Luminator and another slot beneath that for documents

The blue is very deep and eye-catching, its more of a royal blue than the navy descriptor on M-Edge’s website

VERY reasonably priced

Cons/nitpicks:

The zipper is a bit stiff and sometimes requires some extra effort getting around the corners of the case, I do think it will loosen up with use

I’m concerned about the felt interior getting grimy after extended use, it is a very light grey and may attract dirt, etc.

The case must be unzipped at least partway to access the charging port (not something I care about but I thought I’d mention it for those of you who like easy access to ports at all times)

There really isn’t much to complain about at all. Its a great, sturdy compact travel case. Also, M-Edge has a FANTASTIC customer service that has always resolved my issues and answered questions rapidly in the past. I always feel confident buying from them. I take off one star for the somewhat difficult zipper.

Highly recommended.
