I immediately purchased this after receiving my Kindle as a gift. It definitely is good at protecting my Kindle. I generally read my Kindle with the jacket folded all the way back. I just stood it up for the first time, and it’s OK. Would buy this item again.
3 Stars Slightly disappointing
I had a hard time deciding between the Platform and the Prodigy. I think the book-like covers are much more attractive than the Platform’s vertical line and tab closure at the bottom rather than the side. However, I ultimately opted for the Platform to be able to read hands-free.
This is where I was disappointed. The top fold makes the stiff cover especially bulky when open, and it does not stand well. Though this may change after it’s broken in, I think I’d rather return it than take that chance.
Another negative is that it’s oversize on the left side to accommodate the company’s “e-luminator” book light. Without the light it’s just unnecessary bulk and an awkward empty space.
That said, the leather is beautiful. The cover has a great texture, is clearly well-constructed and the one I received smells pleasantly leather-like.
The cover is definitely *not* a jade green, but since it is exactly the same shade as the photo–lime, grass, chartreuse, call it what you will–it arrived as expected.
5 Stars Looks and Works Just Like the Pictures
My Kindle2 fits perfectly and snugly.
The color is the same as in the picture. The leather is soft and rich.
The platform works as advertised. It was really easy. It worked the first time and there were no issues with tipping over at all. I didn’t have to make any adjustments.
It does add a little bit of weight, which is true of any leather cover.
I received it less than a week after I ordered it.
I would recommend this cover.

3 Stars Platform Jacket needs work
After a frustrating wait for this, during which time I ordered and received the lovely Octovo case, I’m not exactly unhappy. But neither am I impressed. The leather is nice, the stitching looks good. The corner loops that hold the Kindle in work, but the bottom two are leather and don’t conform very well. The top two use black elastic and, in my experience, elastic usually ends up stretching. I don’t need or want the excess room on the left side. I already have a satisfactory book light. The case doesn’t fold back willingly. The leather bunches up at the fold. The tab isn’t long enough to allow anything but a very upright position when propped up for reading. And I have no confidence that the tab will retain its stiffness for very long, so as to be inserted in the slot to keep it closed. The texture and color are very nice and the case looks good. For what it cost, I could have done better. More products for Kindle 2 are out there every day.
